It seems when I'm playing, people hit too hard with their regular attack. This is most common when I face Leon.

I'll have my regular attack upgraded to the max DPS I can do, but I'll be in combat with someone else using the same character, but they're hitting me harder than I am hitting them.

Is this just lag making it look like this or a possibly in-game exploit?

I doubt it's an in-game exploit and I'm not aware of lag actually affecting the amount of damage you do, but might I ask what exactly is your max DPS setup?

The max DPS of the base attack of course greatly varies between characters. Being a melee character, Leon is quite strong there if he can land continuous hits. Also, note that Leon hits faster if you press the attack button really fast. This is because he does not automatically attack again after one attack, so pressing the button exactly on his cooldown makes him attack again immediately.

Damage upgrades Leon can have:
Core damage: 8
+3 / Chainsword (max 3)
+8 from Backstab
+10(I think) from medal of honor (20/40% of the time)
+10% from coming out of cloak (I think that's right, I've noticed a 1-2 point damage increase on the first strike without an upgrade)
+10(I think) upgrade from coming out of cloak (x2)

Not to mention he can have an attacking clone double his DPS, or have the arm-speed upgrade to increase his solo DPS.

Now, Leon can't stack all of that, but he's capable of doing 40-50 points of damage in a single attack with the right combo if he gets lucky.
