Love the game, just had 2 ideas that I'd figure I'd share.
1) Have a timeout for players who simply aren't doing anything after 2 minutes. This would include players who are in/behind the store, or players who simply haven't touched the controller to provide input of any kind. It's frustrating when you get dead weight on your team, but dead weight that isn't even playing is even worse. 2 minutes allows for the emergency bathroom run, or messaging, and still gives players a chance to get a bot or another human in the game before it's too late (or at least go down fighting). Time spent in the launch ship wouldn't count.
2) I haven't seen these here, so forgive me if you have them. Any chance we could get web accessible leaderboards? Obviously this would require you to fix their issues (You mentioned you were working on it) to be truely useful, but it would be cool to have them available on the web, or a place where we could link to our Awesomenauts profile so folks on the boards can bask in our glory (or taunt us mercilessly).
I'm already impressed with how responsive your dev team is, so keep up the good work, and maybe you'll find these ideas interesting.

In reply to 1), I like your idea. If a player is idling during the game for a few minutes, it would be nice to have a bot to take the players spot for the remainder of the game until the player returns.

I keep hitting "Defend" when I want to attack, because that's the way I'm going. I realize some folks just learn which is which, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets confused on occasion (I hear "Defend" when we're in the opponent's base and the guy is right next to me and we're blue a lot).

Another few thoughts. 4) Any chance that once you get past halfway though a secondary turret (or when that turret is destroyed), a game would stop adding new players (Allow existing players to reconnect)? I got added to one game yesterday that ended before I ever landed my ship. Wasn't very fun.
5) After the second turret is destroyed, can folks who leave have it counted as a loss on their leaderboard ranks? I ran into a few "runners" who bailed just before the base blew (which prevented me from blowing up their base in one game, strangely, because it left the base wide open). I'm guessing they bailed because they didn't want the loss on their record.
Also, anyone else is free to throw suggestions in here as well.

Random thought but I'm not gonna make a new thread about this but I want to see more prestige ranks. I've maxed myself out but I enjoy lvling up and now I won't be able to anymore.

Sweet fancy Moses that's cool news, thanks. I wish there was a sticky thread somewhere that kept updating with all the news of the new patch. It seems to be scattered all over the place between the wiki, this site, and facebook.

Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to add that not only would I like additional maps, but I'd like more stuff like the solar boss in them. It's fun taking those things down. Maybe there could be a flying robo dragon or something on some level that shoots fireballs or something. Perhaps if you kill it it can give you access to a special ability that you can purchase in the game, like adding fire to your basic attack or something. It's simple enough to maybe change how gameplay is a little on a certain map and give extra objectives without taking too much away from the game. I dunno, could be fun.

I think it would be better if killing the solar boss gave you acces to a special little place, with something like a few creeps in it or a jump platform like the ribbit IV one on the bottom of the map so that you can use that to surprise enemies from below. (for example with clunk's explosion, or to help out your teammate) The special little place would have a neutral yellow barrier at first that blocks it entrance, then it becomes the color of the team that killed the solar boss, so they can get acces to it for the rest of the match. To keep it fair, the team that did most damage to the boss in the last 5 seconds before its death, would get the kill, so that kill stealing is hard. Maybe the solar boss shoud be a little harder for this idea though.
