For random small questions about the map editor please use this topic. For more complex stuff you can of course also create a separate topic if you like.

You can find tutorials, guides, shortcuts and random pieces of information on the Awesomenauts Gamepedia:

I was wondering how do you copy one side of the level to the other side, I believe you briefly mentioned it on stream.

Comment: I have noticed that the tutorial starts after a game while editing ends, which is kinda weird, I would like the game to pause so in case I forgot to save the game saves. Just nitpicking on this one though

How exactly do hidden areas work? I can't seem to get them to do anything besides making things inside the area slightly greyer

Alt+ctrl+M

You can find a complete list of shortcuts here: http://awesomenauts.gamepedia.com/Map_Editor_Shortcuts

Good point, maybe editor matches should just never end: you don't want the editor to disappear all of a sudden I suppose.

I think they might not do anything until you actually attach some graphics to them. Have you checked how they work in the TemplateLanes map? I think there's a functional hidearea at the centre bottom there (with the leaves).

Hey Joost,

a few bugs / questions here.

When I flipped my map everything beside the bouncers got flipped.
This might be because I manually put in rotation values and they didn't change.
I mean it was easily solved by adding a - before the number (or removing it)
but shouldn't it automatically be rotated just like the rest of the map?

Another feature request.
The object / zone / everything else bar. You can now only switch placeable objects
by pressing the -> and <- arrow keys. As there are lots of objects in there could you
get a dropdown menu in there? That should make it easier to select modes.

Can we play/test the new maps as someone other than lonestar? He's not the best to test fly borders and so on...

It's a bit of a noob question, but how do we edit kill-zones? By that, I mean like the parts in Starstorm where the player dies eventually when falling off. For some reason my kill zone boundaries are so close together, it makes the map unplayable and I've searched for answers and found none. Thanks!

P.S. The editor just killed my character, called defeat, and then crashed.

Yeah that was bugging me too. The liveable area seems to be based around ingame objects beside the main walls or something like that. The range is really really small though. I kept killing my character XD

A feature for this is coming. There's a list at the bottom of the patch notes with incoming editor features. :ayla:

The game calculates the bounding box of all the Obstacles. If you go outside the bounding box, you die. So if you want the player to fall further before he dies, then you need to add an Obstacle further down.

In other words: if you're below the lowest Obstacle in the map, you die.

Question

How do we delete maps? Like back in the main menu under the mods section?
