My friend showed me Awesomenauts on PS3 and I really enjoyed playing it. When I got home I was looking to buy it for PC just to find it's not on PC. Well poop. Any news on the PC version?

I see some people wondering if it's a bad idea to release Awesomenauts on PC because there's a lot of moba games around on it already. I think Awesomenauts would fit in great because it's the only moba that's really easy to pick up and play for a bit and then go about your business. With all the other mobas the learning curve is really high and the communities are often borderline hostile towards newbies. That's why I pretty much gave up on mobas until I got to play a bit of Awesomenauts. Soooo... hows about that PC version Ronimo? :D

No official news on it yet, but I've heard several times that they're looking into it.

Also; Ronimo... If you're gonna do a PC port, PLEASE do a proper one! Don't just port it directly and expect people to buy it.

Think of how awkward the control scheme would be. Everything in Awesomenauts is conveniently mapped to the controller, allowing your hands to stay in one position for the entire game. On a keyboard, there are many buttons and possible positions for actions. I can't imagine how Awesomenauts would work on a keyboard - jump on space, attack on left click, aim with mouse...? Bottom line, the keyboard control scheme wouldn't work. And I'm sure Ronimo wouldn't force people to use a gamepad, as most people (me) don't have one.

As for cross-platform play, this is probably a very bad idea. It would combine to medium sized communities together, creating more games, but there are some serious latency issues. Valve was seriously considering having cross-platform play with Counter Strike:Global Offensive, but after testing, they realized how bad the game would be because of lag, possible PC hacks, and stuff such as that. So, CS:GO will only be PC/Mac cross-platform and not PC/Mac/PS3 as originally planned.

Also, way to necro the thread.

I guess space for jumping, shift for auto attack, Q and E for special abilities and arrow keys for walking directions. Then W for teleporting and 1234 for commands. That's how I think it would feel at least a bit natural.

But.. I don't think split screen is a possibility then.. ;)

CSGO crossplatform was dropped due to valve not being able to constantly update the game on console, as consoles don't offer the freedom that steam offers. It has nothing to do with hacks or lags, blazblue had no issues with cross platform neither did portal 2.

and I wouldn't even bother arguing about the controls and controllers.

Hmm, just looked it up, you're right, sorry about that. I just assumed that the PC connection would be stronger.

Just curious though, why don't you want to talk about the controls? I know for a fact Ronimo said the controls are one of the things preventing a PC version.

I thought your trolling when you talked about CSGO that's why I wouldn't talk about controls :P

+ we PC gamers are used to many controls schemes, some of us play fighting games with a keyboard, and many of us already have other consoles so its natural for us to have extra controllers.

Meatboy for example is a game that was "made" for controllers and 80% of the sales were PC sales.
