You've got nearly 10,000 players and we're still under 1,000.

Well, it makes sense because of the game being free for PS+ users. The only way to fix that is to convince more friends to get the game ^_^
But 1000 should already be enough to constantly find full matches. During the first few hours on PSN we already had full matches almost all of the time, with only a couple of 100s of leaderboard entries.
It might also be a connection issue. Are you playing using wireless? Or maybe it's your NAT setup. Do you get a warning about connectivity? Have you ever had problems with other online games?
The game is pretty aggressive with dropping people based on high ping. If you have an unstable connection, that might produce spikes in ping, effectively disconnecting you from other players. Any information about your connection might help.

I think the problem is that a lot of people get disconnected and then they get replaced with bots.... Shocking that that many people play on ps3... I got it on 360 because i figured it would be more popular on ps3.. This sucks, i just want to have people to play the game with... Its so lame playing with bots...

I also feel like there is issues with the xbox leaderboards, which never happens on xbox games... I don't think everyone that has played is on the leaderboards.. I have played over 12 games and the leaderboards have showed that I only play 2... It makes no sense.. It seems to have only kept track of my losses...

I'm pretty sure the XBL leaderboards are messed up. Not a big deal though, I'm sure it'll be fixed in time.

Disconnects don't have to be a problem, per se. If it's just people leaving your game, other people can drop in and replace those bots. But if you have a bad connection causing you to break connection with everyone else, your game will be flagged as bad and those people will be unable to rejoin you.
If you're left alone in a match that way I think the best thing you can do is leave and retry, if you're alone in a match you shouldn't get a penalty for leaving. Keep in mind that you can never really tell if you're alone though, because people might've already joined you but still be in their loadout screens.
On Xbox you can also go into the guide menu to view the people you've recently played with (rightmost option in the friends section) Just pick the most recent one and join their game. If there's still room you'll be put back into the game you were split off from.
But in the end if this keeps happening a lot it's time to start looking at your connection. Again it might also be in the NAT setting of your router. Depending on your NAT type it might be possible to join, but be hard to actually host a match.
Unfortunately Xbox live might sometimes decide to migrate the host to you (because you might have a way superior connection, ironically) If that happens everybody gets kicked out of your game.
For now there's nothing else we can do. We're looking into making the ping requirements less strict, among other things.
As for the leaderboards, there's definitely something wrong there. For now we have an idea that it might be related to point distribution in splitscreen. But we need to do more testing. Any ideas on what goes wrong are welcome.
