Can't spell IGNorant without IGN.
Old addage, but it applies. Lonestar's probably THE BEST character in the game... Fully upgraded blasters are just that damn good (full bullets or the dual rockets, doesn't matter)... Three Dynamites is quite potent, even moreso with Bouncy or Contact. You get Leon quickly enough, and even without slow he's a great ganker. Also, the last unlocks are Voltar and Yuri, both of whom are hardly powerful if you aren't patient and don't play defensively at first.

idk, I bet reviewers just rush through this game so they can write their review fast and become bad at it, which results into them not liking it and I also don't get the weird user rating of metacritic.. the one day it was a 8.8 user score on the ps3 awesomenauts. then the next day it went down to 8.1, while there wasn't a new user score on metacritic.

Power Unlimited gave the game an 8. The reviewer was very positive about it and had no negative things to say about the game, and he thinks you can easily get 40 hours in it so I don't know why it isn't higher than an 8. He didn't mention anything about splitscreen or the nice skill system that adds multiple ways to play characters though.. could be because he had only one page for the review but still. (he loved the music btw xD)

What happened to 5/10 being average? These days 7 is average. This doesn't make any sense and I think everyone should take a step back and really consider what they are saying. Are most games really better than average? That doesn't even make sense.
Like Modern Warfare 3, it's just a slight improvement of Modern Warfare 2. I wouldn't call that 8/10, if Modern Warfare 2 was pretty much the average after it was released then how can Modern Warfare 3 be considered an almost perfect game? Take your favourite game, you'll always find some problems with it, every game with a 10/10 rating, are they really perfect? 10/10 doesn't mean perfect to most game reviewers, if anything nothing should ever get this rating, to get this rating would mean the end of every other game in it's field, there would be no need for another release. That or the rating system should move, when an improved game is released that gets higher than 5, that game should be considered the new average. Only when a game created after this is better should it score higher than a 5.
I'd give Awesomenauts a 7, which means I love it and I play it a lot. More content would have been an 8. 30 characters, 12 maps, a unique single-player and flawless multiplayer with several game modes and a Halo Reach-rivalling multiplayer game customisation and options, including arcade stick support, would be 9. This game would never get a 10, unless it redefines what a game is or something and it makes Shigeru Miyamoto quit because the perfect game has already been made. 10 is an impossible concept.

Do you also think about the price when you rate a game? I think Awesomenauts deserves more than a 7, and I would rate it a 10. Not because it is perfect, I have had more disconnects lately. I would give it a 10, because I played a lot of matches now, I liked most of them and had a good time with them. I didn't expect to spend so much time on this game and it's only 10 euro. The content is also fine with me, I can stick long with a strategy and even now I still find new strategies that I really like, there's enough customization with the upgrades for me. Big plus for me was the local multiplayer option btw, I played splitscreen most of the time, that is probably even more fun. So for me, I would give a 10 if the game was worth more imo than I payed for it, and I think reviewers do the same now. (I do get the impression some reviewers play a game for a short time, or are corrupt these days though )
