Classic platformers have always traditionally been designed for 8 way digital input. Awesomenauts seems no different - yet it forces you to use the analog stick. I find this annoying.

Perhaps there's an option I missed in the menus? feel free to point it out if that's the case. If not I'd like to request a d-pad input for a patch, or like to know why it wasn't used?

Yuri is the only character that needs analog input - since the dpad does nothing (afaik?) unless you press L1 for taunts, I see no reason you couldn't enable input on both at the same time.

It'd be cool if you could customize it to work using the dpad but I don't think it's a big deal.

The DPAD uses the commands seen in the L1 menu. You don't have to push L1. I don't see any problems with being able to adjust it so that you only taunt when you push L1 first and the DPAD is used for controls. I'm sure the devs will see this and hopefully it's not too much to ask.

Not that big a deal or anything just a preference I think they should have adhered to since unless I'm mistaken implementation should be so simple.

I have to agree. With most games (especially fighters) players have a control preference. Weither it's d-pad, analogs, fight stick, fight pad etc; It might seem trivial, but a comfortable controller is usually what most people need to be THAT much more better. I am fine with the analogs, but there are people like OP who would like to have the option of using the D-Pad.

+1.

Although the game controls decently with analog, I hate playing sidescrollers without the D-Pad. This is especially an issue with the down-jump in this game, half of the time I end up jumping instead. Lost a lot of kills because of it.

Same here. I've missed a good share of tongue snares, platform drops, etc. because my analog stick was at the wrong angle. Sometimes I lost a kill, sometimes I was killed myself.

I missed some really easy kills like that. Always rage endusing lol.

Would love the option to control with the D-Pad. I can't tell you how many times I've splash-dashed diagonally into the ground or into the air while running away because my joystick wasn't exactly sideways.
