I've always wondered that. It would function a lot better and be a lot easier to use if this was this case.

I guess they didn't do this because 'it would be easier', so it would take away from the skill gap.

seems like it would be harder to jump and attack effectively. i do wish i could use the directionals instead of the analog for movement, though.

I wondered that too at first, but agree that it would have made other actions difficult. Unless of course, you could use the L2 and R2 buttons for something. I think a good configuration would be:

Move/Jump: Analog Left
Aim: Analog right
Teleport: R1
Power1: L2
Power2: R2

There's an old-school charm to it not being that way that I like.

Also, it would suck for Leon, since it wouldn't make any sense.

Huh.... I guess that's why everyone is so much better at jumping while shooting than I am. Never thought of holding it that way. But then again, I usually play Yuri so I don't need to worry about it. :monkey:

Wait what? Why not just use the tip of your thumb for X and the middle of your thumb for A?

Why wouldn't you just keep your thumb so that the tip of it presses square while the middle presses jump? Thats what I do, anyways lol.

I'm used to button mashing so i can quickly use my right thumb for everything, including switching from attacks to specials. Leave them the way they are. Once u mess with things is when u break them.

Because you could kite Leon big time if you could run and shoot backwards.
What I think would be better is to have R2 as hold position and then aim with Left Analog stick. This would make it balanced, but still give you the ability to aim from a platform, without having to jump off it because you're aiming ex. down/right.
