Heya! We're recruiting volunteers to help us at Gamescom in Cologne next month!

The goal of having volunteers at Gamescom is to help new players get started by explaining the game to them if they need assistance, and generally helping players at the event have a great time. Most of the gamers attending Gamescom are German, and it simply works best to have German-speaking people at our booth to help these players out. Our German is hilariously bad, so we're looking for some backup!

By helping us out, you'll be helping new players join the Awesomenauts community, help spread awareness about the game, and (hopefully) have a great time with us! We'll have a couple of people from our development team at the show, so if you ever wanted to meet us in person, talk about Awesomenauts, and simply hang out, then this is also a great opportunity!

In return, you'll earn a in-game Golden Duck icon to show off to the world that you've been helping us out, get a sweet Ronimo Games #crew shirt, and you'll be meeting lots and lots of nice people during the show. In addition, we'll match time you spend helping out at our booth with 'free' time off at Gamescom to explore the show, check out other games, etc. We'll provide you with an exhibitor badge that gives you access to all areas (though it doesn't allow you to skip lines), that also allows you to get into the show a little earlier than everyone else. As our booth is located near the Indie Arena, you can also use this time to hang out with other developers.

We will also provide you with some food and drinks while at the event while you're at our booth.

What we can't do for you is provide you with accomodation in Cologne or arrange for your travel to and from the city. The Gamescom badge will give you access to public transport during the event, but we'll have to coordinate on when this badge will be available to you. If you're facing specific costs for attending the event, please let me know if you get in touch!

So, to get down to it... here are the requirements we have for volunteering at Gamescom:
  • Must be fluent in German
  • Must know sufficient about Awesomenauts to be able to get new players started and recommend them characters to play.
  • Must be at least 18 years of old
  • Must be able to attend Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, somewhere between Tuesday August 22nd and Saturday August 26th.
  • Must be excited about talking to people about Awesomenauts for an extended period of time.

If that sounds like you, we'd love you to hear from you! Please get in touch with us through robin@ronimo-games.com and include the info below:
  • How many days would you be willing/interested in helping out?
  • When would you be most interested in exploring the show?
  • Could you link me your Steam profile?
  • Since when have you been playing?
  • What is your shirt size?
  • Could you please let me know for the timeslots below if you are either NOT AVAILABLE, ALREADY AT GAMESCOM (so at Gamescom but not able to help), AVAILABLE TO HELP (in case you are flexible and could help us out in that timeslot), or WANT TO HELP (in case you specifically want to help us out in that timeslot) for each time slot? I will try to set up a schedule that works best for everyone.
    • (Optional, as the day is closed to the public) Tuesday - from 10:00 until 15:00:
    • (Optional, as the day is closed to the public) Tuesday - from 15:00 until 20:00:

    • Saturday - from 0900 until 14:30:
    • Saturday - from 14:30 until 20:00:

We'll do some quick interviews with everyone who signs up to get a better idea of who you are, talk about Gamescom a bit, and work through some of the details. If we have many signups for this, you might be guaranteed a spot.

Hope to hear from you soon! Get in touch with me through robin@ronimo-games.com if you want to sign up or have additional questions!

Peace out! :ix:

Great to hear Awesomenauts is going to conventions again! :thumb:

If you are able to make it, I highly recommend doing so! I had a blast when we all went to PAX in Seattle a few years back!

Still sleepy here. Did I get that right? For helping out you would get me a ticket and I only need to get there and stay at your booth helping othwrs? If I had the money and if anything else at gamescom wouldnt be * i would have done that anyway.
If you can get me a card you totally can count me in with that! gonna write me revenue today!

You would presumably have to provide your own lodging, as well. Include that in the expenses.

the "you must speak x language" thing probably drives off 80% of potential volunteers every time
