Can't forget your roots bois.

Smh I'm about to buy the ps3 version again. Need some of that shotty g in my life as well as lategame coco. Miss the old solo queue and nauts being more solo oriented.

Of course not. A few of the extreme laggers will get on still during reset to blip around into the top 10 spot, but the rest of us have moved on.

'Nauts used to be a great game. Seriously, every day was a new adventure. New friends, new line-ups, new possibilities. All they had to do was just balance every naut around Lonestar when he was the epitome of balance, fix some of the lag, and make it so those who had 'local only' settings actually only played with local only.

The game is a shell of what it was. Non-stop adding new unbalanced characters, the map imbalance, there is no longer any strategy, just a giant poke fest. The team with the best advantage is the team that has the most amount of safe poke... Which is every new naut. Oh, and the fact that SoloQ is torturous now. There is no way to carry a truly bad team anymore, especially with the level system.

The worst part now? Matchmaking is, comically, the worst its ever been. Balance is the worst its ever been. Players are all toxic AF, and every match will have a Rocket, a Smiles, or a Yoolip. At higher leagues(league 1, maybe league 2 idk) you see all 3 on the same team over and over.

So no. Go ahead and ban me for daring to speak out against the overlords, but the game used to be amazing. Now it's a giant poke fest catered to league 4 players and there is no fun or excitement. Sad thing is, this game had potential to be top tier. Now it's eeking out '300-700 daily players' where at least 100 are people on alts.

I think I found this game around 2012. Downloaded it for free on 360 as part of my XB Live subscription. Instantly hooked, depsite how inba it was.

Don't think it has quite the charm it used to, but that's probably just a result of me becoming more competitive the better I got. But the charm has been replaced with a deeper sense of satisfaction when I win a really hard match.

I do really miss that first Summer that I found it. My buddy and I had lots of free time back then, so he'd come over all the time and we'd just play the crap out of it split-screen. I was Clunk and he was Derpl, and we just had so much fun nuking the crap out of everything. Good times.

I remember the old imbalances though:

Clunk had a 4 second snare.

Lonestar sticky dynamite all over the map because it didn't expire.

Froggy's triple AA just being insanely high DPS.

Leon Clone Army rushes.

This game was so broken at launch. It was beautiful.

I think I actually recognize a couple names in here. And I had it in the wrong forum because I totally forgot there was a non subindex.

I've only played 11 matches but the game still generally feels the same. My boy Lonestar seems to be pretty trash though now though. Feelsbadman. I haven't tried out Yuri, my main, yet. I'm 10 wins out of 11 games so I see plenty of badness still playing the game though. The game still feels pretty fun and it's definitely more polished but I'm reserving final judgement until I see more of the rooster in action. Balance was generally pretty * bad years ago.

So much truth to this.

I'm an eldernaut i guess. I was sold on the game when Totalbiscuit did a preview of it from PAX (I think it was PAX...) The PS3 days were pretty crazy. Some random things I remember:

-IMO, there were even more laggy matches then compared to what I get off of Steam, but I might just be remembering it wrong.
-Derpl's AA build was hysterically powerful  .
-Gamepad only (obviously).
-Matches would last 30-40 minutes on average.
-I don't remember much about matchmaking except that you would get put into game faster.
-No exp and levels, so it was mostly a rush to get damage upgrades first.
-Almost all the characters had something that felt OP about them (Voltar's healing train, Froggy burst damage)
-Making comebacks weren't as difficult to pull off as they are now.
-You could carry a team much easier back then.

Despite all the complaints that everyone has (a lot I agree with), I've stuck with this game through all the craziness and weird balance patches and bugs, and I don't really plan on stopping. I'll add more points if I can think of anything else. Now grandpa needs his beauty sleep.
