No, this game is about teamwork to defeat the enemy team. If you are worried about 1v1ing a Derpl, wait for your team to show up.

Derpl with Cats is an extremely overrated and horrible strategy in my opinion.

Derpl's cats are quite expensive to build up, and he is extremely weak in the opening of the game in this build. Take advantage of that if you don't notice him going into Siege Mode, otherwise he'll just farm Solar and you'll be in trouble. If someone outplays you like this, you have no one to blame for that but yourself- or maybe some feeding teammates... It's the same for a ton of character's Auto-Attacks, or their more expensive upgrades, such as Shottie-G, Coco's Shock attack, or Yuri's mines. You have to perceive what is going on around you and act accordingly.

have a team of Froggy G, Lonstar and Clunk and it will be easy. Splash, dynamite and explode. problem solved.

Derpl is my main and i don't think its OP.
Imho, the kitty build is an hard carry (weak at start, strong later). I like to play him because with this build i am polyvalent : I can 1v1, i can push, i can protect tower, etc. I can fill many role, and usually the missing role of my team (i only pub solo with him). And my * combines very well with many other characters, thanks to the snare.
Last note, this build needs the player to perfectly masterize the Derpl fly. This is required to harass the other team or to catch Yuri.
