I just recently installed the student free version of 3ds MAX while trying to make proun levels.
I make a line just like in the Level editing tutorial, but when I go to run the script, I get this error.

--Runtime Error: FileStream could not create:
../tracks/newtrack/scene.txt

I am completely new to 3d rendering programs, so if you could help me by telling mee what I am doing wrong, that would be great.

I am using Autodesk 3ds Max 2012

While using the MAXScript Listener this pops up

"Ogre\OgreXMLconverter.exe"
-- Error occurred during fileIn in <ReadonlyTextFileStream:0x00004240>; line number: 37
-- Error occurred during fileIn in <ReadonlyTextFileStream:0x00003dc0>; line number: 12
-- Error occurred during fileIn in <ReadonlyTextFileStream:0x000038e8>; line number: 4
>> MAXScript FileIn Exception:
-- Runtime error: FileStream cannot create: ..\Tracks\NewTrack\Scene.txt <<

It worked. i had to re-install proun to C: instead of C:Programfiles(X86)

Cool! I think that was my post you were talking about.

I'll see if it works for me too. :)

Edit: I never saw Joost's comment. :( Thanks for reminding me!

A different solution would be opening 3DS Max as an administrator. ^^
