First off, I'm a HUGE fan of this game! Which is why I'm upset that my data was deleted...seemingly for a completely random reason. I did check my other game saves to see if my hard drive failed, and my other saves were still there. I wasn't as far as some people in the prestige, but I was level 16 2nd prestige. I was playing a game, and all of a sudden, my game exited to Xbox dashboard, I loaded Awesomenauts back up, and it asked where I want to store my data..and I was level 1 with no prestige.

I'm not expecting Ronimo to restore my level or anything, but I do want this issue to be known (however rare it may be), so they can look at it, and try to fix it.

I just started playing all over again, don't know what happened either. Never had this before with any other game in the four years I own an Xbox so there must be some weird, although very rare, bug inside Awesomenauts that causes this to happen I guess.

Do you remember what you were doing exactly when this happened? Were you in a game or in the menu? Were you by any chance watching the leaderboards or some other player's profile or gamer card when the crash happened? Had the game session just started, or was the game on already for a long while?

The same thing happened to me. I was first prestige, really low level, like 6, and then I turned off my Xbox. I ask my brother to turn the Xbox on and play Awesomenauts, as I was going to write an item guide, then he says, "Why are we playing through the tutorial again?" I thought he was kidding with me, until I saw that I was level 1, prestige 0.

I didn't get a warning message of any kind, it kinda just...happened.

Yup, I remember. I played about 5 really great games (6-10 kills, 0 deaths) vs. the same players. I had another good game, but had 1 death, same players. The next game, I killed someone before the droids spawned, he left the game ( he was in the last 5 or so games with me), and shortly after, my xbox went to the dashboard, and when i opened Awesomenauts again, it gave me the file directory message.

I play random every game, and I got every character once, but got Froggy G twice. The game it crashed, I randomed Leon. I was level 16 (I think) on my second prestige.

I have checked the leader boards once, and that was a while ago, and I was not viewing a player profile. The game that crashed within 5 minutes of the game.

This may be a COMPLETE coincidence (possibly funny), but here it is: I play Awesomenauts on my Xbox. My girlfriend was watching me play, and happened to touch my PS3 controller with her foot...right after that happened, the game crashed. She freaked out, and thought it was her fault lol. But I assured her it wasn't because that seems ridiculous. If that has any correlation with this issue, I'd be amused. This might be a trivial piece of information, but I just trying to be thorough .

I tried to give as much info as I could involving what I was doing. If there is anything more specific you need like generation of my 360, internet connection, charging the xbox controller with the usb cable, etc., I can try to go into more detail. I am newly employed in the game development industry, so I will try to help as much as possible!

Thanks for the detailed info! That the save corruption was caused by a crash is really important to know for us. So far we have only had reports of save-game-corrupting-crashes while viewing the leaderboards, while yours was apparently during normal gameplay.

I don't really understand why any of these crashes corrupt the save-game at all, though: they don't seem to happen at a moment when I know that the game is actually touching the save-file. The game does not save during gameplay, for example. Anyway, we are investigating this, hopefully we will be able to find a solution!

And please tell your girlfriend that it was all her fault, since by bumping into it, she hotwired the quantum flux capacitator in the PS3 controller, which interfered with the Xbox's hyperspatialiser.

Although this is labelled as a "rare" bug, there seems to be more threads popping up about it - and hey, it just happened to me last night as well. I was about 15 minutes into a match (pretty good game, as well) and I was kicked back to my dashboard. I figured that was my Xbox trying to tell me that was enough Awesomenauts for the night, so I waited until today to load it back up, receiving the error message about corrupted data. I tried to load it back up a few times to no avail. Halfway through my third prestige and everything gets deleted.. that's quite a bit of hours that were put into this game. I understand prestige and ranks don't actually affect the fun of the game as a whole, but it's just a little disheartening to see your entire history erased.

Either way, it's starting to feel like this rare bug is becoming more common, perhaps this should get bumped to the top of the priorities list because I'm sure an issue like this is going to detract some players. Other than that, I couldn't be more pleased with how great this game is... although I'm itching to be able to launch cats at my enemies.

Same thing happened to me, I was in a game when I got sent to the dashboard and then when I got back on it told me my save data was corrupt. I was first prestige around level 10.

Is there any way you guys could help the people out who had this happen to them? Is it possible you could give us our ranks back?

I think it's only a problem on the xbox, I didn't read anyone had it on a ps3.
More and more people seem to get it on the xbox though, and you are right this is probably one of the worst bugs to get, all that prestiging done for nothing.
