Hi,

I wanted to play Awesomenauts just now and when I started playing some Xbox-message popped up... But I pressed A really fast just to skip the message (like you always do in games) but at the last moment I could read that I selected 'Overwrite'. I didn't want to do this, I never had this message before starting up Awesomenauts.

Apparently, I overwrote my save file and now I'm back to level 1 again, lost my prestige and all my stats.

Does any of you know what happened? Is there anything I can do about it? I freaked out and turned my Xbox off and feel like deleting the game because I don't want to start all over again.

This is probably my biggest first world problem so far, I hate this feeling. Feels like loosing all the passwords to Dyna (Bomberman) for MS Dos ten years ago all over again...

No on can really be sure what you did, but 1: Read the messages that appear on screen.
2: Don't turn off the console while it's doing important stuff... you're lucky it's just your save file you lost.

1. It was right after selecting my hard drive and you always have to just press A to continue, it just asks the same thing as always. I always read messages but selecting the right hard drive is just pressing 4 or 5 times on the A button. Apparently I pressed it another time and therefore it selected 'Overwrite'. I'm just curious what the message was and what the other option besides 'Overwrite' is.

2. I didn't turn my console off while it was doing anything, I turned it off when I was in the Awesomenauts menu when I saw my level was 1 again and when my stats were 0.

Apparently my save file got corrupt but I don't know why it happened. Didn't take out my hard drive, didn't move my Xbox, just wanted to play on a normal Sunday night.

Edit: I suppose there's nothing to do about it. Starting fresh all over again seems fine, but my nickname is still in the leaderboards with the prestige sign next to it... Oh well, too addicted anyway.

This sucks, sorry to hear you have lost your progress.

The message was indeed very probably a "save game corrupted" message, so I don't think you could have selected anything else than overwrite. However, the big question to me is how the save game got corrupted in the first place. Do you remember whether the game crashed, or electricity went out, or you turned the Xbox off by pulling the cable or something like that during the session before you saw the corruption message? This might also be caused by a broken harddisk, but if that is the cause, then I expect you will be getting more corruption messages elsewhere as well.

I played a few games on Friday and wanted to play again on Sunday, so I can't really remember anything specific. I just powered off my Xbox like I always do (back to the menu of a game, hold the X-button on my controller and choose 'Power off Xbox').

Harddisk seems just fine, didn't move the Xbox or anything else.
It's not a big deal, I was only halfway through my second Prestige but it still sucks.
