Hey guys,

As you can probably tell, Awesomenauts does not have the biggest community in the world. This is why many games have bots rather than human players, and why the next patch will most likely be the last. This is just my analysis, and should not be taken as fact. But, we can change this.

On this coming Sunday, June 10, 2012, I propose a Twitter takeover. We need to get more players playing Awesomenauts. It is a great game with a ton of work put in, but if we don't help Ronimo, our beloved game could see the last ounce of content with the next patch. This Sunday, I will be tweeting #GetAwesomenauts all day long, as well as recording gameplay footage a playing ALL DAY LONG.

Join me. Tweet @RonimoGames with your support, tweet #GetAwesomenauts, #BuyAwesomenauts, #TryAwesomenauts, ANYTHING that will raise awareness for the game. I am @Z13J on Twitter, and I know we can do it. If we get it trending, I will even do a giveaway on my YouTube channel, and not a crappy giveaway like a pack of gum (I've seen that before, no joke).

Thanks for your time guys, reply if you will join me or want me to rewrite something.

I support this 100% and will do what I can on twitter. That being said I will have no such luck with YouTube or video recording as I don't own a video capture card :(

Still though I love this game far too much to let it go without a fight!

I completely agree, the only thing ruining my experience with awesomenauts lately is the lack of players that live nearby, causing freezes, lag and disconnects.
I will do some tweeting this sunday, hope it helps :)

It's a downloadable only game that got released last month, it's not going to light the world on fire.

Beyond that, the bots are there to keep games going. Sometimes you get more bots when a game/group gets stale because folks are having trouble connecting to that game or the system just has decided not to assign anyone new (usually the few remaining humans in that group get reassigned elsewhere.

I've found it's been a pretty full community, much more so than I expected. But the quick drop in and out gameplay means folks may be dropping in and out, and sometimes you may not find folks because of lag issues between players.

Yup, but lately I have the feeling a lot less players in my area are playing.
When I'm the host, I get lag when players join.. and eventually they disconnect.
When I'm not the host, well then I disconnect, sometimes while in the loadout screen.
I didn't have this last week, the problems started this week.
With a bigger community, I don't think these problems would occur this much.

And I bet most people don't even bother to try the demo or have never heard about Awesomenauts, really too bad.

This is my point exactly. Playing against a full human team, when you are the only one on your team, is extremely depressing, as you get steamrolled 100% of the time. Also, I know the game has only been out for a month. Rumors around the forums, however, suggest that this may be the last patch, the only patch. PS+ got the game for free for a month, which is a loss of a lot of sales. I'm guessing most people who have PS+ played the crap out of the game, and are now tired of it. You may have bought it, which is a GREAT decision by the way, but you are probably in the minority.

All I'm doing is trying to keep the ball rolling here. Awesomenauts would be a great new e-sport, assuming that spectator modes are added and that more 'nauts and maps are introduced. If you don't want to tweet #GetAwesomenauts this weekend, fine. I just want the game to continue with human support, because the bots can't help fund the future of this game.

Any foundation to that beyond random assumptions? The devs seem quick to respond to issues, they're still investigating new ones (which they wouldn't do if they weren't going to patch again), and the game hasn't been out that long. I don't think there's a lot of server activity on their end for the game since it's hosted locally for someone, so it's not a big money drain to maintain, and they've got some pretty ambitious plans (2 new characters and some major rebalancing (I'd call most characters getting effected in some way a major rebalancing, even if most of the skills don't change)). So, unless you've got any real concrete proof, don't think negitive about the game.

Still, feel free to push it. The more, the merrier.

it's an educated rumor going around based on every other small dev company who has put arcade games out lately. It's very possible that they would update it more than once, but the patch is going to cost them roughly 40,000 dollars just to put through on Xbox.. I don't know Ps3's policies.

It's happened with Monday Night Combat, where the dev's made numerous threads and polls talking about game feedback, balances, what we wanted to see in the next patch, etc.. then one day announced SMNC on the PC and they were leaving console behind because of it's strict update policies.

Nexuiz came out in March, I believe. The devs were also pretty active on feedback and were talking about lots things in the upcoming patch. The games really fun but unfortunately is severely broken and needs a patch more than any arcade game I own. Now, they rarely talk about it but say it's still in the works. Someone posted the Monday Night Combat thread where the Dev's said it costed 40k for a patch, and I think the nexuiz dev's confirmed it.

Yeah, that's about what I heard for patches on the 360. Not sure if they cost on the PS3 (I don't think they do, or if they do, it's less). That probably means they need to patch so they can do updates in DLC, or on the server (you can have a game that pulls down info from the server when it logs on, NCAA/Madden do roster updates for example, they could do balance updates that way).
