As of late I really take the Pings displayed with a grain of salt. It was either today or yesterday I was playing with someone with a ping in the 50's teleporting all over the place and other shenanigans. The scoreboard is either flawed or there's some other sort of network issue in play.

Ping and jumpyness are not the same thing.
Ping is the average time it takes for a message to get from you to the other player and back. Teleporting players however are caused by jitter: variation in the time messages take. For example, we have seen routers that wait for a couple of messages to come in, and then send them all out once. So it is possible to have a relatively low ping and still have jumpy characters. It is also possible to have really high ping and still have everything look smooth, if all the messages take the same long time to travel.

You will never see your own ping at anything but 0. Thats simply how it works.

That's not broken. That's how it's SUPPOSED to be. To YOU, your ping should always be zero. Pinging your own machine will always be zero.

As Joost said "Ping is the average time it takes for a message to get from you to the other player and back." There should be zero delay at "messaging" yourself.
