Clever. But no, really, posting about someone getting mad about a match isn't worth posting about. And the point of posting his response to it, even though he never got a response to it? None, other than showing off.

It's one step ahead of posting 'Hey guys I'm eating a sandwich while playing Awesomenauts. You guys ever eat sandwiches while playing?'; pointless, and for the part showing off his response, lame.

Yet... you post, even though you think this. Cute.

That it's pointless, yes, because it's pointless.
And, uh..thanks

I've made several similar topics. It is essentially me sharing my story/gripe with something, asking if anyone else has something similar and people post. I did this with which "character is your kryptonite". It's just something for people to talk about, not really pointless!

Just a harmless topic for players to have a little chit-chat. If you don't like it and if you think that it's pointless, then don't post! I'm all up for having a little debate, but if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it... right..?

And you mentioned me bragging. I believe being in the top three gives me every right to brag, agreed..? If you got it, flaunt it~!

The bragging part was about you posting your response to the ragemail, it didn't give any insight nor did you post any further responses from the rager so it was clearly added for the purpose of 'check out my awesome comeback guys'. Bragging about being in the top 3 is pretty silly in itself though, given how broken the rankings are in this game.

'If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it' is just speaking of manners, similar to 'treat others the way you wish to be treated', it's not a rule of life. Likewise 'if you don't have anything pointful to say, don't say it'. I've seen the argument 'quality not quantity' in regards to the small character roster of the game and I'd like to extend that to the forums. What sort of benefit does talking about people getting mad provide other than an ego-boost to those posting it, such as yourself? None, really. At least the kryptonite discussion has merit.

Shoe-horning in 'it's for other people to post their stories in too!' doesn't justify it, as your title shows it's merely you posting for the sake of telling your own story. This ain't facebook, and even on facebook nobody cares about what you've eaten. In this case, a sandwich.

 query of others getting rage mail pointless??

I think that forums are exactly the platform needed to discuss topics such as this. I had some rage towards another Leon one match, he kept hunting me down, avoiding other players, just to smack on me (I was randomed to Yuri, my worst). Next round, I picked Leon and paid the favor back to him, he rage quit :|

Best feeling since (logging onto my "main" in WoW back in 2008)

Well, based on the responses and the fact that you're the only one getting their panties in a tussle over the matter, I'd reckon you're in the minority, mate. Everything you post in this topic makes you a hypocrite, essentially.

Even if it is 'pointless', it's not hurting anybody, so why go out of your way to be spiteful about the whole thing..? Honestly, stop and smell the flowers sometimes and taking everything so seriously. Not ever topic has to be in depth about stats and how to play the game. It's fun to just have the community share stories!

That being said, once again; You don't like it? That's absolutely fine. I'm not forcing you to post anything. Your opinion is your opinion and I completely respect it, though it might do you some good to just ease up a little.
:D

I do that ALL.THE.TIME. I play games with friends from this forums, and I like to fill a role that I'm needed to fill. Want me to heal? Sure. Play Lonestar to push turrets? Why not! But when someone on the other team uses my main (Leon) and is besting me, I HAVE TO PLAY Leon next round, just to do the same and to show him how to REALLY play Leon.

But sometimes it backfires because I'm so focused on teaching the player a lesson that my team ends up losing, or I end up dying because I am so focused on killing JUST that guy.

I've found the community to be pretty decent. I get a lot of messages asking me about builds and such but not much rage mail.

A lot of people quit and I send them 'why leave? lol' expecting some hate mail back. Here's an example of the most recent response I got:

"you were pretty much owning me, I've played for long enough, good game"

Bottomline is I've found the community to be pretty civil so far.

Why even send them that? You're just inciting a negative response.

Because I'm of the believe you should actually stay to the end of the game.

If I get a negative response, so what? it's hilarious. I only send a message to people who seem quite experienced but quit though. A lot of players who clearly don't know what they're doing... I can understand why they leave...

i get one rage mail the other day too, the only thing that comes to mind was "what a waste of time, let me play" and i keep playing xD didnt have time to think something clever to tell the guy so whatever, actually what really makes me mad are the "invitation spammers" they are annoying, its not common sense that if you dont answer is because you are already playing??? why bother sendind 10 invitations one after another if the first wasnt answered??

btw, gun lonesatar? that sounds familiar  i was trying the dynamite build and while is easy to "ulti" them to dead i dont feel comfortable with it, and i get to prestige 4 so now i dont even have the proximity detonator >_>

The gun build on lonestar is so OP! Especially with boots and you know how to maneuver around people? Push them back from their turret when they try to escape and it's over. Lonestar is a violent pusher for sure.

People quit for a lot of reasons, have to go to work, aren't having fun, got an invite from a friend to play, etc. The point is your message is entirely pointless, you're just trying to get reactions out of the few people who are mad when they quit. Most people couldn't care less about whether or not they win or quit. Most people aren't competitive and only want to have stress free fun. For some reason you have this mindset where everyone has to finish a game as some sort of obscure obligation to your ego. They don't, people will leave and you'll get over it. You're playing in a drop in matchmaking system for a reason, for this exact situation.
