Some people have been asking about whether they can make fan-games and fan-animations of Awesomenauts. So here's an official statement on the rules for that:

-We would love to see Awesomenauts fan-game, so you can make those, as long as they are non-commercial (so you cannot sell them or make money from them in any way).
-You must make it very clear that it is related to Awesomenauts, and also that it is not an official Ronimo product.
-It is okay if you use assets from Awesomenauts for your fan-games, like voice files and sprites.
-Fan-games cannot contain offensive or 18+ content.

Have fun! We are really looking forward to see what people come up with! :ayla:

I would assume we can sell them all the same?

[edit] Also, how does one get the sprites out?

Also Joost, can you please give us sprite renders of the 'Nauts with their arms pre-attached?

We are not distributing any additional assets for this specifically. You can use whatever happens to be online already.

"Non-commercial" of course means that you cannot sell them.

Pls Joost ;-;

There is no way to use the sprites for the characters who can aim (Rae, Lonestar, etc.) unless you manually attach their arms, which is hard and will not always come out right.

Time to get technical; if I made a video of my theoretical fan-game, could I monetize that video, as if it were a regular Awesomenauts video?

Also, this rule is interesting;

Why have you chosen to have this rule? Not saying that I condone said material, I'm just curious as to why you want to restrict that kind of thing. :derp:
