Why have you chosen to have this rule? Not saying that I condone said material, I'm just curious as to why you want to restrict that kind of thing. :derp:

It is most likely because they have requested that the fan games mention Ronimo/Awesomenauts. Awesomenauts is a "family" game, and as such the developers would never feature mature/18+ content on their game. Even if it is a fan game, the use of such material would ultimately reflect on Ronimo and negatively affect their image.

Time to get technical; if I made a video of my theoretical fan-game, could I monetize that video, as if it were a regular Awesomenauts video?

You can always use Youtube monetization on Awesomenauts related videos, either from the main-game or from the fan-game. Although for the fan-game I suppose the created of that fan-game needs to give his permission as well.

Not everyone will understand the difference between a full fan-game and an official Ronimo product. We don't want to be associated with offensive stuff.

This might be interesting.

+it grows fuels unhealthy association. It's pretty much a company standard, I'm surprised it needs to get answered ~_~

Never seen any video game companies restrict fan content in such a way, is all.

I think a free fan game supporting MLP got sued despite the blatant promotion it was giving and that it was free with no ads...at least that's what I heard from my coding MLP friend at one point. Some companies are douches.

[edit] Also, for no making money, I assume you would be allowed donations or ads to fund hosting?

This is getting rather theoretical, since as far as I know no one is currently making something. If someone is actually making an Awesomenauts fan-game and has real plans for something to fund hosting, then feel free to PM me to discuss the details. :)

Yes, it's all very theoretical. :lolstar:

Sorry, I'll stop asking crazy questions. :P
