"Reduces high damage taken during siege mode to a maximum of 20% of your maximum health as damage"

huh? there's got to be a clearer way to write this description.

so if he has 1800 hp at base, any attack over 360 will be capped at 360?
& then if he takes 2 levels of pills, bringing his hp to 2088, any attack over 417 is capped at 417?

does this apply before or after Force Field (7, 14, 21% shield)?

Idk if I should have made a new topic, anyway I just started to use derpl and I am wondering... Is pussycat album worth taking? It sounds good on paper but I'm not sure...

Small thing to note about PCA that is largely unknown, it is the only upgrade in the game that scales inversely off of a level difference. Whereas most upgrades are strictly better when you have a higher level than your opponent, pussycat album gets worse. With only pussycat album purchase vs a clunk with just base explode:

-If your level 1 and the enemy clunk is level 3 you will negate 32.1% of the explode damage.
-If your level 3 and the enemy clunk is level 1 you will negate 23.7% of the explode damage.

As to whether it is worth buying, it's extremely situational and is worthless outside of those situations, but when it works it can turn around games. I would consider buying it if either there was something like a clunk/derpl who is two levels up on the enemy team, or if there were 2 nauts with those kind of burst skills on the enemy team. Even then, I would still buy the normal 21% shield first, and you can still consider other siege upgrades. The only time its a must buy to me is if there is 2-3 nauts it's good against on the enemy team and I'm behind in levels.

TL;DR It's really situational due to how it works, but it can be decent-good in those situations.

Here's how Pussycat Album actually works:
  • It caps your maximum damage in a single hit to 360.
  • This number scales with your own levels, by 3% per level, so at level 20 the maximum damage you can take is 565.2. This means the upgrade is better when you're behind in levels and worse when you're ahead in levels.
  • Is NOT affected by Pills. Pills doesn't increase the maximum damage, meaning it's a good idea to buy them together.
  • Triggers BEFORE Force Field, but AFTER Barrier Magazine. Force Field + Pussycat Album work together fine, but you don't want to buy Barrier Magazine and Pussycat Album together.

I know, the upgrade description is stupid.
