I'm not into the competitive community because I refuse to play laggy and have people hate me for it, though I've noticed a lot of teams becoming disbanded lately. Is it because the summer holidays are heading its end, or is this all just a coincidence?

Not at all.

This time usually indicates a change of pace in many people's lives, so whilst it's not the only factor, it strongly contributes to it.

Because the average lifespan of a team is 6 months apparently. Jk, PSL existed for 9 months.

Reason 1: School, work, etc. ^^

Reason 2: Just guessing they saw opportunities to make new teams with new team mates. The more teams "dying", the bigger re the chances of finding new and interesting team mates :monkey:

Reason 3: Tired of the game, some people can become tired of it, or the game they've waited for a long time have been released. Nothing wrong with this, since it happens with every game, even though Awesome games like this often last longer than most :thumb:

tf2 is pretty terrible at this point and it still has an absurdly dedicated following

Team Nerf Plz is still alive and kicking (scrimming it up, too). I understand where a lot of the teams are coming from, though. We've suffered our own share of burnout and lack of play because of work/school, but luckily we're still at it.

On the bright side, this is a perfect time for new teams to form. There are a lot of players who are now not on teams that you can grab and the teams that have disbanded have left gaps for others to fill.

Like most e-sports, teams will fade away when there are no big tournaments going on. Most will come back once the APL is up and running :thumb:

Yeah, makes me wonder if there will be any teams left to sign up for Autumn Nauts.

Don't worry, only 3 of the 20-ish big teams broke up, but most of their members are actively seeking for a new team to join/form which is cool :-)
