The Only Voltar Bot Confirmed not to be a Moron!
The Cortex is a new Voltar bot from the maker who has spent far too much time on Voltar bots. He marks the 29th Voltar bot I have built from scratch. The Cortex is built to match the new Voltar. He takes advantage of all his abilities to be a masterful support and nab more than a few kills. In every test match, the Cortex has gone on a killing spree, and it has not been uncommon for him to be a killing machine. He gets a surprising amount of droid kills for a Voltar bot, and is overall very strong. I am pleased to announce the release of the Cortex.

The Build

Why BKM?
Voltar's poor acceleration makes CC extremely dangerous to him. That is why he buys BKM. Healbot frees him to buy another upgrade in place of Med-i'-can, so he loses nothing for his choice.

Special Thanks to....
  • Veanko, for maintaining VeankoAI.
  • TheMesp, for his healbot healing logic.
  • hurleybird, for his novel approach to build logic.
  • FlawlessHair, for his Ribbit IV stuck fix.

Okay guys, we're done, someone did a Voltar bot, and it actually works, everybody leave.

And, uhm... I know he can rebuild himself since he has the technology, but... 29 times? Man.

Okay, serious mode activated, bot testing is srsbsns after all, this bot is actually really, really good... at least compared to what I expected from a Voltar bot

Some suggestions of mine:

Suicide Drones
  • Don't touch anything. They're perfect. He lets them do the work and the throws them when he can get the kill.

Healbot
  • Also, really nice, throws it when needed, just wish the other bots would stay in the healbot range.

Techno Synaptic Wave
  • I think he should be attacking/healing a lot more. Sometimes he just stands still doing nothing, while a low-on-health ally is next to him
  • I think there's no way to make him kite, but it would be nice if you could make him attack backwards.

General
  • That dreaded Aiguillon spot.
  • Tested on Aiguillon, and he'll get stuck a lot, specially on the bottom lane, jumping in the middle of the map and just getting himself killed.
  • He'll keep doing the same thing (taking the bumper, dropping down the hole, repeat, for example) until something like an enemy or taking too much damage makes him move away.

A nice teammate, and a great opponent (enemy Voltar ended 4/1, ally Voltar ended 5/5), makes up for a bretty gud bot.

You just missed the fix I put out a few minutes ago, unfortunately. That shouldn't be a problem any more. Nonetheless, thanks for testing!

Update! The Cortex should now use Healbot to heal himself in combat.

Updated. No longer gets stuck above the drill and never buys utility items below difficulty 2.
