I mean you can check which devs have actually bothered to check the forums it has a last visited date right there.

Last Visited this Year
Kewn - Feb 27
Jasper - Feb 21
Joost - Feb 07

Last Visited in 2018
Dennis - Nov 12
Thisj - Oct 24
Olivier - Aug 20
Maarten - Jul 24
Robin - Jul 17

Not exactly the most consistent checking is going on to be completely honest. Even the 3 most "active" devs by that logic haven't posted much of anything or interacted with this set of the community whatsoever.

It's their choice whether or not they wanna check of course, but there's literal proof that the vast majority of people in the dev team doesn't visit the forums, or at least hasn't ever since Nauts was no longer their focus.

Even on the Ronimo Discord the vast majority of the devs say nothing. The Ronimo part of the discord is basically solely Kewn, Niel, and Sometimes Dennis. Other then that none of the dev team is involved in it (Even though they're in the discord), or respond to much of anything.

On another note it's March now so SteamCharts has updated Image

Annnnnd 10% of the playerbase has up and left. It's just really worrying.

When the previous months showed signs that Nauts would seemingly stabilize somewhere around 250 players then yes I would be somewhat suprised at the rate it's going down.

Especially when as I said before for the first time since Snork we've actually had some basic maintenance stuff done for Nauts. Mods in Brawls is a somewhat major addition, but was barely noticed at the end of the day.

To me it shows that what they've been doing barely helps much as of right now, and that Nauts will barely have a damn community if we do go a full year without content which is honestly seemingly VERY likely based on the AMA they did March 1 (That they didn't really tell anyone about btw). Since they don't seem to be very close to completing whatever they're working on.

just wish you guys would follow the market. I mean I get wanting to just make the stuff you want to play and wanting to be bold business wise but like you literally have this (shrinking) playerbase thats just like "hey release a skin, i will swipe my credit card immediately". And the "oh we maybe will maybe wont return to Nauts after we're done with our new IP" mentality combined with stuff like "we check the forums" which Morrowsaw did a good job calling out is just kinda treating us like kids, at least it feels like. Call me entitled, but I do expect a bit more transparency and clearer communication from a team that's essentially saying "Don't go anywhere just yet, because we MIGHT go back to supporting the game later on down the road".

edit: Also, it's frankly sorta * you aren't updating balance or fixing bugs atm. Like, you should actively put someone on that. Like, I hope you guys aren't underestimating how problematic this behavior is. Maybe your new IP is a successful multiplayer game that we all love. I sure hope whatever it is lot sof people love it, I really do.

Let's say I want to support that game. The reputation gathered during Awesomenauts is "We will continuously allude to future development which will suddenly become a 'maybe' without any actual development. We will do this while balance issues and bugs exist in the present time'

At least personally, I don't know if I like wanna really throw time/money behind another project of y'all's if this is the way you guys address it. I even bought Swords and Soldiers 2, which I haven't and probably won't ever play, just because, again, I like to support y'all. The # of people willing to do that is going to dwindle.

Man I miss this game. When I get some more money and stable living, I plan on doing a legit stream playing all versions from ps3 to pc. My love for helping me out of depression.

That's not entitlement.

That's just a realistic and reasonable expectation.

What I don't understand is how they're even open. This game's playerbase is so small and there's no way skin sales are paying the salaries of like 10 people.

I'd like to add during S&S 2's original development Ronimo had a skeleton crew working on nauts. Yea, the starstorm map was put on the backburner during this, but we at least got patches, new nauts and skins. Nauts content came out much slower but I don't recall much complains about balance, in fact many who played liked the overall balance during this. We still got some nauts, we still got some skins. Flashforward to now, the game is abandoned and the balance is in a bad spot. The least people would want is a balance patch. This is why the people left playing this game are angry. I've played few games in the past year but I believe the reason why nobody plays Snork is so it wont annoy the few remaining players.

The least Ronimo could do is at least have one or two people check in on the game. Take balance into consideration and nothing else. Ignoring Brawls and finally updating them now is too late. Where was that 1 year ago? Where was it when mods were being pumped out? And I do agree with whats been stated before, don't shove the remaining playerbase off. Who cares if some are not going to like the game your working on, some might, and may tell others about it. Its free real estate.

Niel, nobody is mad at you. They're mad at how Ronimo as a whole has treated Awesomenauts.

I don't take any of this personally but thanks for letting me know anyway.

With the current way development is structured at Ronimo, every member of the development team has a very specific and specialised role. This is the most efficient and effective way to focus on 1 project (our new IP) but this development structure does not allow us to split the development team into 2 or even allocate a small group to a 2nd project.

See, this is understandable, but also being said far too late.

Ask yourself how long it took to type that out; was it a minute? Two minutes? The amount of time it would take someone (anyone) at Ronimo to communicate with the community is so utterly miniscule that the only conclusion the playerbase can come to is that you don't care anymore.

It's not physically possible for me to hammer this any further home without splitting you in two like a piece of granite. This community's damn near the nicest you'll find for what it is, and you're all letting it slip through your fingers like soup.
