Would really like to have this implemented into the game, since it would reward people for staying, instead of punishing them for leaving. Would also make people play more, since they got goals to work towards weekly ^^

what can we do about people who just feed to get their points and get the game over with?
"i'm going to lose anyways, but i want points. i deem this match "too hard" to make a come back, so i'll just run into the turret into we lose."
people who have that mentaility either quit, or feed for a quick loss so they don't lose as many points. what can we do about people who'd do the same for this system?

Who cares, if they stay in game, feeding or not, it prevents * latejoins... that's what happens in Dota 2 and LoL too, the team either surrenders or is fuicking around.

There's nobody decent to have on your team because they all play in premades, you won't matchmake into them.

You raise a good point, luckily I've thought of this myself:

This can be prevented by rewarding 'good' play more than 'bad' play. What does this mean? Simply, reward players slightly more for destroying a turret, for getting kills, for killing loads of droids. This way being AFK and waiting for the match to end would grant you less Awesomepoints than playing on and getting 50 more droid kills before the game ends. And by provoking players to try to get the best out of the game before it's over... they could actually make a great comeback!

I feel there are a few core matchmaking fixes that should take priority over this, such as map preview, bounty system, etc.. Once the game is actually enjoyable to play, I'd certainly enjoy having more rewards for playing it.

What people don't seem to understand here is that:
Noone can see any flaw in Corpit's idea aside from the time it would take Ronimo not to work on stuff they deem more important.
So the only argument raised against Awesomepoints until now is:
Yes, but my solution is better.
Yes, but other matters are more pressing.

Not many ideas can be accepted on as easily as Corpit's imho.
Most ideas I read in these forums are horrible imho.

Imho map preview is highly contested.
Imho bounty system does less against current problems.

If people enjoy the game more because of additional objectives, the games also get more enjoyable, don't you think?
Less rq, less latejoins.
Better than any idea coming out of the community yet .

I don't think there is any way to force people to play if they are not enjoying the match. Even with cool skins and effects.
The only thing you can do is let the players getting stomped concede the match and move on.
But, it's still a good idea that probably should be implemented.
