Would it restrict players with only a limited selection of 'Nauts?
No, I don't think there's a need for bans. Ronimo should probably give new players a couple more different Nauts, something like one from each category: assassin, tank, support etc. just to make it fair.
But it's just about as limiting as right now when someone picks your main before you do. If you are limited by your ability to play more than one Naut then you are probably playing the wrong game. It's also more motivating for people to learn more than one class, if they know they will have to use that skill at some point.

Of course, you may get out-drafted, but generally you would be able to pick the optimal Naut even in a bad situation.
If picking Durpl or some other Naut becomes always untenable, sorry, you need to work on balance or rework the character. This is a long term solution. They should be able to fix the balance in time though, like they did several times before. I'm not worried about this at all thought. It can't be worse than going in random all the time, or only picking the most safe Naut out of fear of being countered by the whole enemy team and your team not being able to help (because nobody knows what to expect).
