has ronimo made an official statement about the tutorial yet?

Yes

I can't remember when they said it (or if it was said in a non public discord somewhere) but they have said that their metrics clearly show improved player retention from mandatory tutorial vs non mandatory

Well, whatever the metrics says, if indeed they do show any sort of non-coincidental correlation (and I would doubt that), the game's now approaching its old record for lowest average playercount ever.

Even the peak players value is approaching its old low-point, too, so retention of the nonexistent is irrelevant at this point. Making the tutorial skippable can't have any negative effects that you can't blame on the player at any rate ("you'd suck less if you actually played the tutorial, you know").

There exists no feasible reason as to why it shouldn't be skippable. None at all.

1) Its a 20 minutes long annoyance to reduce the ammount of serial-smurfs.

People already playing the game already have all the smurfs they need by this point, and people not playing the game aren't smurfing.

I suppose that's, like, 40% of a reason.

I don't think Ronimo's ever taken an official stance on smurfs. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I still run into combos like Humpty and Dumpty or Donald and Trump, where Donald has 50% win percentage and rank 1000, while Trump has 100% wins and Rank 30 000. I think some people do this to boost the rank of the higher player -because the teammate is so low ranked, the avarage stays so low that the rank 1000 gains plenty of ranks when winning, and drop only few ranks when losing. Its not daily by any means, but once in a while I see these even recently.

Thats true though, that Ronimo hasnt written into rules this to be against their policy. Just my personal dislike goes towards this style.

Yes, but those are smurf accounts that have already been made and, as a result, will have already completed the tutorial to be of any use. Keeping the tutorial mandatory will have no effect on them in any way.

The only people that keeping the tutorial mandatory would affect are those smurf accounts made after the matter, which I can't see as being a substantial enough number (read: close to zero at the moment) to warrant keeping the tutorial a requirement for all players, especially when we consider how poorly it has reflected on Awesomenauts recently.
