A character's collision size is important as it balances well with their health pool, mobility and potency. Tanks are often larger than squishies but a squishy can be larger than their peers if the character's speed and power demand it. For this reason, I've decided to pull the height and width values out directly from the game and give you a list in descending order for tallest, widest and highest square area collision boxes on playable characters. This should be interesting information in general for those that are curious about this kind of thing or wish to consider it in balancing.

All values are multiplied by 100 to get them out of the decimal area and multiplied further by their animation scale to get them to be more precise. For example, Clunk's height and width values are set to be the biggest by far but because of his animation scale (0.8x the sprite's normal size) Clunk is smaller in practice. Please mind that none of these are hitboxes for attacks, just the character entity itself walking about/existing in the world, mainly used for taking damage or colliding with walls. Some entities in here are also untargetable and/or fly through terrain but their theoretical hitbox is included for completeness' sake. Values of any in-development characters also won't be posted even if I have access as they will likely be changed in the future and I don't want to spoil anything.

I just wanted to add a quick PSA before people start posting nonsense. All hitboxes are squares, even if the sprites/textures/particles are circles.

Rectangles, although there are a minority of abilities that have true circular hitboxes like BHS.

What the hell has sprite size to do with collision size?
Quite certain those 2 are completely unrelated.

You have ASM.

Go set Vinnie's animationScale to 3 and then try to go around the map normally.

If hitbox depends on animation scale, why are there even settings for collisions?
Ronma is weird.

I have no idea why they're both linked to animationScale, myself. Blame Joost, I say. :P

This is going to make all my mods so weird, since I always presumed animationScale and collision size are completely unrelated.

I don't mean to hijack my own thread into a Yuri one but it's one of the two problems that caused me to make this thread so I want to suggest a 10% size reduction.

His stats post-shrinking will be as follows:
Height: 12.6 (the 2nd-tallest in the game behind Sentry, still pretty tall and among the tanks)
Width: 9 (a middle-ground width, nothing too small, goes from 5th-widest to 8th-widest)
Total Area: 113.4² (from 4th-biggest to 8th and still past the 100 mark which not many characters of a similar HP level pass)
Cuteness: To the moon! :P

The only real issue is if you focus on his mine-placement animation it might be a little jarring at first that the mine grows a little when it spawns out of his animation. It's hardly an issue, though, as the mines look really segmented and so sudden expansion as they 'arm' is plausible.

Collision size I suppose go both ways, you can more easily dodge things with smaller size but you might be able to bodyblock better with bigger size, at least height.

Also, as Skølldir against Ayla. Is there something about his width and how far to the sides his punches start and how she can hover "inside" him very annoyingly or is that just me?
