It's apparantly if you hug a turret the aoe can hook people that are hiding far behind. Seems terribly unintended.

I agree that this feels unintended when playing as smiles since you have to hug the turret. I personally like the idea of the hook through the turret, but it's not consistent.

Considering many other abilities go through turrets, I don't see how this is inconsistent.

Plus, as you say, Smiles would literally have to hug the turret. Not really something that can be abused anywhere close to how other Nauts abuse their turret piercing abilities.

AoE abilities tend to affect things in areas.

This is about as far from inconsistent as possible. "Fixing" this would be to make it inconsistent.

You could argue that the design is poor—and that AoEs should have LoS checks—but that's a different matter.

I think it'd be cool if you could actually go past enemy turrets, but that it was really hard to do so.
The penetration :LeonWink: difficulty could be accomplished by adding a slight knockback on turret, that get's increasingly stronger the closer you get. That way characters like Rocket could 'penetrate' the turret, at the risk of dying.

You would still take damage, so very unlikely that you could survive going thru the turret and back, but it would introduce some fun game play. :shady:

I mean a person could just move the turret hitbox to a place where you can still hit it but pass through, then you could add a slow field in the editor, so you can run through turrets.

The projectile automatically latches onto enemies when they're in range.

It affects an enemy within a defined area, so to speak.

The issue here is that, even when firing at a turret, the latch range is great enough to tether to an enemy standing behind their turret.
