Shinobi Rocco's arrows are quieter and a lot less flashy. On the flip-side, poor Hotrod Derpl makes a loud-ass noise every time he wants to move. No sneaking around for him.

Techno toad has a distinct jump sound so it is easy to hear when he is invis. Loninator has a different walking sound (again easier to tell it is him if you can hear him but not see him.)

I believe hotrod derpl's engine sounds are easy to hear for the enemy (may be wrong on that one).

Pretty much any skin that causes a distinct walking/jumping or even idle sound puts that skin at a disadvantage...

Perhaps it's just me, but it seems that most of these costumes with alternate sounds entail a disadvantage, if anything.

Musical themes, idle noises, and louder sound effects for actions. Like trade-offs for novelty.

Though, perhaps that's for the better. I'd say the alternative would be arguably describable as "Pay to win" - Something I am glad that Awesomenauts is not.

I'd actually like to see the metrics on this (if they're available) to see if skins do have a potential impact on win % or if it's really that marginal... :chew:

Wouldn't that be skewed slightly due to players in general picking up skins for characters they are good with?

Double post cus why not.

About ed's invis thing, this is the same for all nauts. All nauts make a sound when jumping that are distinct and can be heard while invis, as well as certain (if not all) walk sounds. Jump-pads can also be heard too :ayla:

Arphl is gimped, the trap's graphics are ~5X the size of the other skins whilst the traps are deploying. It makes it near impossible to land traps at close range, it's soo easy to see them coming.

Very good changes to Max, you've taken modest compromise approach to balance many of his upgrades, which is probably the most reasonable thing to do.

I would put incomprehensible quotes as an upside. It doesn't affect your allies since they can see the banners from your commands, and it only obscures which move you used for enemies.
