Joost said he wanted to see improved froggy and lonestar bots. so i decided to quickly make a lonestar bot.

Overall. he plays pretty similar to stock cowbot. but just improved. he uses his skills better, uses a better build, will retaliate when running away and uses my generalAI. so he should be a bit smarter then the stock bots.

Download

here is the build hes using. i decided to give him piggy bank so he can buy Trinamite straight away(note: he tends to buy health earlier than the build order says he does).

As long as his bullpins are still godtier he's fine. :lolstar:
Will check him later.

Also, you should give him TnT/lifesteal or DoT/bouncy, not bouncy/lifesteal. I mean, it can work, but lacks synergy. :S

bounce health works fine if his aim is to cheese. i'm guessing not.
most lones go health incin these days
will test this later. i wanna see that big explode rebooter on cooldown cheats :lolstar:

I think bouncy lifesteal is probably fine given that his aim with lobbing grenades might not be the best.

He does when you're close by. Not sure if this bot has been changed to attempt longer distance dynamite or not, will test when I have the chance. If the dynamite logic is untouched then incendiary probably makes more sense.

Ok, tried him out. Truly a monster. Bouncy seems to work good in some situations, and others he'd probably be better with incendiary. It might be cool if there was a bit of a random element in terms of which one he buys -- would make him more difficult to predict. Or, even better, decide which one he buys based on map or enemy team comp.

updated. now buys incendiary instead of rubber sleeve and fixed a bug where he would occasionally not use bull in some situations.

Congratulations on getting this bot added to the beta for patch 2.6! I'll also send you a PM about the next steps to get the bot into the final patch. Bots that turn out problematic might still be removed, so this is not the final victory yet!

The improvement over the original Lonestar felt quite small, but a smaller improvement is still nice. :)

I just went through all the Call to arms (Post all BETA 3 issues here) thread and collected all the AI feedback.

General feedback:
Bots in general are incredibly reckless when attacking the base. Its very rare for them to retreat as it seems they put damaging the base at a higher priority than their own survival it seems.
Some bots seem to ignore the droid spawners on AI 205.

Bot specific feedback:
none :lolstar:
