i think tvtropes is much more interesting as a site that describes the impact and history of a work, though it's sometimes fun to look at ymmv pages to see if the site can open my mind to something i might not have noticed when first consuming something
i still have to sift through all the "nightmare fuel" and "alternate interpretation" and self-aggrandizing garbage though

I was about to continue with this discussion but then I remembered how pointless I think the website and its objective is, and quite frankly its pedantic to require a page that explains why sitting on chairs isn't a trope, because I can think of at least one situation in which it could be.

Also, how the Zork are AOEs a trope???

Conorbebe: it's pointless to continue the discussion.

Also Conorbebe: how the Zork are AOEs a trope???

At any rate, is anyone going to help Murloc?

I thought Area of Effect was a game design and not a trope

I was someone who started out pretty much hating TVT for a lot of the reasons stated but I've grown to appreciate it for what it is in places where it can be. Every now and then, I'll find myself sifting through it out of bored interest.

I like TV Tropes and even update several pages myself every once in a while

So I kind of see myself in you, here's my issue.
Don't post on forums about something you like, people here have no taste period
Dont ask for help on forums. As far as I'm aware everyone needs help here in something.

Any questions?
