The skill build list
Welcome to the skill build list. Here I will be making a list of different builds for individual skills, and I'll keep an eye open for other builds in other threads too. These builds can be discussed and edited or removed by the community's likings. That way I am also making this a list approved by the community. Finally I will keep trying out the builds on the list to see if they remain viable as the game grows older.

If you miss any build on the list you are welcome to post it. However, I am trying to get the most effective builds on this list. So if your build is outclassed by another (because yours is more of a fun build for example) it will not make it. But maybe then we can edit it in an already existing build if it not makes that one less effective.

Builds are sorted by role, which makes it easier to find the build that better suits your playstyle. It is recommended to take at least one of the more damaging skill builds in your Naut build. For example, you will not be making much progress if you can only harass the enemy.

I'll be adding the next classes later. The point of this thread is to show how you can build individual skills differently. That way I hope I can help new players show how they can build their Nauts. But maybe also to make it a bit easier for Ronimo to see which upgrades are less or not viable to the community.

-cubes good, but not worth taking atm
-don't really think double clocks is that good. not enough damage from splash
nado
-duration does not fit his well established role as a nuker. having him as a damage dealer when his nado is on a long cooldown does not suit the frog well. he does not do well in prolonged fights after his cooldowns are off. it's a decent upgrade, just outclassed by his usual upgrades
fish gun
-piercing sucks. you don't need this if you're using his gun to push.
-range. it's not even 75%. i think it's 66% or sumthn. it's probably decent. but severly outclassed by the other upgrades

I played Froggy with above mentioned builds for skills, and they are viable to me. Sure, when taking non-damaging builds you are less good at soloing. But double clocks is viable. When I take double clocks I take the damage dealer build on fish-gun. Double clocks is very good for chasing and escaping while cubes slows the enemy, which fits an assassin playstyle.

Bio fuel cells may look like a stupid upgrade, but I'm convinced otherwise. They are good especially when combined with other upgrades. And yeah, nado is a damage dealer skill since it deals the damage in ticks, not burst. Twister tweeters is the upgrade you wanna take for better nuking.

Piercing doesn't suck. It is a very viable upgrade for lane clearing which fits a pusher playstyle. Range is good in duels. I actually have to edit the role it fits on the OP. That makes him a better fighter.

Thanks for the feedback.

Edit: Added Lonestar.

Sorry, but I have to agree with DaMan here. Piercing is genuinely awful because Froggy's base range is too low for Piercing to have any real benefits, and if you take range and piercing together your DPS is horrid. Range is okay but max DPS is almost always the better choice. Fuel Cells have the problem of every single other upgrade on the row being more useful.

double clocks is subpar to usual dash build. meta dash makes him a much better assassin
frog doesn't gain much in terms of escaping or chasing from cubes. he's chases/escapes fine without it.
nado is akin to the high damage dealt by nauts that fill that role over a short duration. using duration pushes him further into a role that does not suit him
piercing sucks even more so when you take into consideration that frog wasn't made for pushing. thornfish, damage and piercing is horrible for pushing >.>
range, damage and thornfish is horrible for dueling <.<

Common Traits for a Fighter

Excels at dueling.
Tends to be more effective at melee/short range.
Average health pool.

none of the above really fit froggy

I hear you. But keep in mind you have to change your playstyle to the upgrades you choose. Of course damage dealer builds will be more viable if you're playing to a damage dealer. I'd test the builds again and may remove them if they seem less viable. Do you have any critics on any Lonestar build too? I like to make this a list of builds the community agrees with. Also, if you have builds of skills yourself don't be shy to share them here. I want to get all characters on the list. I'll upload the builds for Leon I use tomorrow.

Dr. DaMan wrote:

No. The meta dash (damage + damage + damage) makes him a better nuker. Chasing and escaping are typical traits of an assassin, and clocks do have their value. Especially if you combine it with damage dealer builds on the other skills, like I already said. And cubes is great for keeping the enemy at place so you can damage them more easily.

 This list isn't about what Frog is. It's what their builds make him excel at. I get the thinking you want to turn this in yet another 'how should I build my Naut' thread. That's not what I'm doing here. I'm not mad at you. But you have to take on another playstyle if you take another skill build then the simple damage dealer build. Else it will never be viable. In my opinion range and piercing are, you just have to change your playstyle to the upgrades you choose.

mite
-big + bounce might be a bit overkill. when you wanna go as a pusher, you should go with 3mite, incin and big/bounce
bull
-don't know why slow is under pusher. explode is better for the big rebooter cheese fest
-i'd recommend taking big bull over explode if you're looking to deal damage with big bull. the +1 knockback doesn't mean it pushes people further. on the contrary, it makes it stick on them more since it's covering a larger area. this upgrade pretty much double the amount of times it hits them(not including pins. bull has a set attack speed). it makes it harder to kill as well
blaster
-double missile, eagle makes lonestar a fighter.
-who really uses boomn -__-
-gun isn't used for pushing that much. it's the combination of his mites and bull which make him a pusher. gun upgrades are generally generally bought late game. depends what bullets you're using. missiles mid, gunstar late.
