1) Escort your bots and kill enemy bots
2) Kill little neutral enemies in the middle layer of the stage for a health bonus
3) Stay away from the big neutral enemies unless you know what you're doing
4) Don't go for the enemy's turret unless you have a few healthy bots in front of you
5) Warp to your base if you're far away, your health is low and you have a lot of solar
6) If you're not good, don't engage enemies in firefights. Dying gives the enemy team free solar.
7) If not much is going on in your lane, check the other one.
8) Try to have at least one player in each lane (unless you're all going for a push at once).
9) Be careful in approaching enemy turrets. Some enemies will sneak up from behind you and trap you between them and their turret

  1. Meh/10. More like "kill enemy bots for EXP and Solar and to push to win the game."
  2. No * they teach you this in the tutorial.
  3. No. First of all this is incredibly map specific. Secondly newer players should try to learn how to fight Solar Boss. I belive something like "The large creep on Ribbit IV can be a very tough fight if you don't dodge his attacks. They are very easy to predict though, so if you think you can beat him don't be afraid to try!"

  5. Fairly certain they teach you this in the tutorial.
  6. "If you're not good." Well that's a sure-fire way to have a team 2v3 every fight. A better way to phrase that would be "Don't fight the enemy on unfavorable terms. Dying gives the enemy (blah blah)"
  7. Just constantly change lanes in general, really. Having a wider map presence is always a good thing. Also if no one's in your lane: push it!
  8. This is actually a fairly good point for new players, but its kinda common sense. And 3-stacking to alternate between lanes isn't a bad idea either.

OP, you're right on about most of your points. But I think 6 is wrong, because the only way you get good is by fighting.

Here's my contribution.

*Stick with your team as much as you can.

*Turn the player status dock on in the settings menu. God only knows why this amazing option is off by default. The status dock shows up at the top of your screen, and gives you two very useful pieces of information: your teammates' health, and the drop pod timing for every naut. The drop pod timing is incredibly important to pay attention to when you're pushing after a kill. Be ready to back off when the enemy is finished dropping, because nine times out of ten they're gonna be rushing to the guy pushing their turret.

*Look at the minimap whenever you're not fighting Nauts or platforming. Yes, this means keep your eye on the minimap even when you're pushing. Hell, ESPECIALLY when you're pushing.

*Take a deep breath and stretch your fingers/hands when the match is starting. Also do this when you're playing like crap. It helps a lot, trust me.

*If your teammates are playing bad, push aside your salt. As bad as you feel when your mate suck, they definitely feel worse. Keep your cool and be supportive. Tell them it's okay, that's its just a game, stuff like that. It'll help them to regain their composure.

*Ignore the haters.

For a new player, I think the top 2 rules that matter most are:

1. TRY NOT TO DIE! Seriously, not dying/feeding is so important and so ignored.
2. Kill bots.

I think the biggest weakness of new players is feeding, not killing bots, leading to getting outleveled and steamrolled. By doing 1 and 2, you at least have a chance.

1) You are not watching your minimap enough (applies to everyone)

2) You are not consciously trying to be with your team enough (probably applies to most people)

1.) They are called droids, not bots. That is something completely else.
2.) Check what items the enemy has. I forget that way too often and then get surprised.

If a voltar is healing you, stand still. He heals for more the further you stand so you trying to hug him makes his job harder.

Sadly you sometimes find the voltar who keeps healing you standing right on top of you, and if you move away to get more healing he just follow you.
