Raelynn doesn't have the luxury of being able to instantaneously reposition herself if things go sour, especially after attacking something.

The change will effectively improve Monkey Hand's range increase by 1.2 units.

Raelynn moves at 7.8 units per second at base: a whole 0.154 fewer seconds of repositioning she has do to in order to hit a turret. Yes, it's extra range and that's always good, but it's not going to suddenly delete a turret or three.

Don't get me wrong, a 60% increase on an upgrade is nice, but her AA row's never going to be competitve so long as it has three damage upgrades and one attack speed upgrade.

Even if we try to inflate numbers artificially and start calculating the total increase in attack area, it's still only a 25.44% greater area over the older version of Monkey Hand, while not bad for a seldom-picked upgrade, isn't really gamechanging in my opinion.

While I'm all for seeing monkey hand be picked instead of multiple stacking damage upgrades, I'm worried there might be turret cheese present by jumping around corners and taking minimal damage.
This is very slow but when cheese is present one must eat it.

The range buff would be an increased enabler for passive rae players alongside piercing. Even if it's not used like that it allows her to be neigh un-punishable when pushing a tower at max range as well as giving her really easy to use poke.

I'm still not seeing how the +40% range would make her "nigh-unpunishable", but if Jasper's convinced then I must be missing something.

A richochet could contend for the very worst upgrade in the entire game: picture all the times it's been useful for you as Yuri and then consider that Raelynn has no piercing on base and her attacks aren't a beam (with effective hitscan). Especially alarming, considering that Yuris often take range as well.

Just some general ideas for replacements that could work.

- Reduce Rift (Or Snipe) CD by .2 secs per hit on Awesomenaut
- Increases damage for each shot landed in succession (5% per target hit. Stacks to 40% maximum). (Don't even know if something like this is possible, but I just wanted to toss it out there)
- Deal 30% more damage to targets affected by time slows

And just because it's always worth considering here are ideas to use the AA row as a utility row since effecting the AA can be kinda tough with how competitive it is.

- If both of Rae's skills are on CD increase movement speed by 25%
- Increase Rae's regen by 120% when near allies.
- Gain a 20% shield for 1.5 seconds after taking over 450 damage.
- Rae now makes nearby droids move 30% faster and attack 10% faster while near them. (Mostly just because I love the concept of Warbot heart even if it's barely utilized by Smiles)

I am just tossing ideas out there cause this is kinda a tough one due to Rae being a pretty mechanically simple character.

These are very similar to talents in HotS.

I love it. Much better than the usual +26% statistic trash.

Naturally, I'm also required to say "stop stealing things from other MOBAs" but I think this gets an exception.

  • Reducing ability cooldowns on a hit condition is very common.

  • Increasing damage per successive hit is literally one of Tyrande's talents word for word (the numbers are almost the same, too).

  • Increasing damage against enemies affected by CC effects is very common.

  • Increasing MS after exhausting an ability is literally Junkrat's Tricky Shuffles (only +15% instead of +25%).

  • Increasing regeneration while near allies is unique as far as I know, but Probius' mana only regenerates while near his pylons, so I guess it's slightly similar.

  • Shields after taking damage is literally the thing that makes Artanis viable (although his is not burst-dependent).

  • Buffing nearby droids (or equivalent) is one of Zagara's choices, albeit not very common.

I prefer HotS' style of talent design to Awesomenauts' upgrades.
