Sorry, I'm probably just dumb or blind, but was the free month cancelled? I can't find any new info about it anywhere...

News on the Modding Month!
Jinx wrote:
Yo ASM people, just a little update on open month. I've been sick the past few days (and still am), so I couldn't meet the deadline on the first of june. The open month version is almost complete. I rethought some stuff to make it a little more stable. Also new will be a tiny map editor (only map layout, no textures yet), a file exporter, that allows you to export all files of the game and a map loader, that allows you to load your custom maps. (The maps are split into two parts *_Gameplay.xml and *_Graphics.xml, obviously in XML format. You can edit the graphics manually, until I add that option to the map editor)

So ASM not only becomes a settings editor, but also a somewhat limited map editor! :worship:

Where can you get this editor?
Or is it just for certain people.

You can get it in the ASM betatesters group (you can hit me or any other admin up for an invite), but in the next few days an invite won't be necessary.

if your not talking about that, i dont take much showers, that counts right?

So you're saying it's gonna be out for everybody in the open month?

Yep.
You'll be able to freely download it, and the practice-match-only restriction will be removed so hooray for custom mod games! :chew:

Oh good, I was worried "open month" meant "beta testers can organise matches between themselves" a few days back (as in, more open for them)...that would be cruel... :P

That map editor stuff should also be pretty sweet, provided you add everything necessary to make the map work (being able to specify zones, AI markers, building locations, etc.).
