In terms of win percentage Skolldir is currently the worst bot in the game. He is not doing so bad that he would need to be removed, but it would be nice if someone could pick this on up again and improve it. :ayla:

Heard and understood. I've been avoiding working on him because Skolldir is just difficult to translate to a bot in general, but if you give me approximately two weeks notice before the next deadline I can certainly put something together.

I haven't done the research into what is causing this, but Swiggins and Skoll are consistently...well...suicidal. They can't seem to get out of a fight, and jump back in any time they get close to breaking free. My guess would be that aiming is at fault here. (your favorite non-feature, right?) Fixing that bug alone would probably be a huge boost to both bots' performance.

I was in an online match on Ribbit with the Skolldir bot replacing a player on my team. Fortunately, he didn't throw the match, but he was close to doing that. :fist:
I watched the replay, and what Ignotis said about Skolldir being suicidal seems to make sense. But another thing I noticed in the replay is that whenever the Skolldir bot wasn't dying, he was pretty much just wandering around the map doing... something. I'm not sure if this is worth bringing up, but I thought I'd mention it. The fact that Skolldir was hardly making a contribution had me concerned. Then again, I don't know much about bots, if anything.
I do have the replay, if that might help.

Finally got around to posting that replay about Skolldir bot having issues, which I mentioned a while ago. Hopefully I got it to work. If I didn't... then I'm not entirely sure what to do next.

I didn't read this until now and now the deadline for bot updates is already in two days: Thursday evening (20 August).

In general though, our patch schedule is very flexible: we constantly change our planned dates based on how things are coming along. So I think it is better to just make those improvements when you get the time and then we can include them in the next patch, whenever that is. Especially now that patches are coming faster than in the past year this is less of a problem. We used to sometimes have 3 months between patches, but now we are aiming to something more like 4 to 8 weeks.

I'm not sure how to post replays, but during a somewhat laggy match, our base was exposed and all the Skolldir bot was doing is jumping and playing around the base's booster pad for nearly an entire minute until we eventually lost.
Not sure if lag has these kinds of effects on bots...
