Only additional feature I can think of is a login / steam authentication so there is no need for a public profile.

Actually a public profile is always a requirement, even if I added a Login button I would't receive any private information, only the SteamID (from which it's possible to find public information).

Steam does not provide any private information.

Actually, if you add a login, you should be able to get data from a private profile. The same thing applies to friend lists, inventories, stuff like that. It works on the grounds that the only person able to access a private profile is the person who owns said profile, and with a login they can get that info because they proved it's their profile.

Also, to add to that, the steam API key used also acts as proof, so your profile will always be visible as it's your API key, though forcing a login could prevent that.

Please don't add a login feature. I will never trust and give my credentials to any third-party site. Neither should you.
Instead, someone should simply parse the log files. Simple, fast & easy.

You don't give your login data to a third-party site. You give your login data to steam who then tells the third-party site "this guy is logged in".

Besides that, I am not against a login feature as long as it's optional.

I have no intention of adding a Login button, as I said, Steam does no provide any private information through the API even after Login. Some discussion.

That is not true for things like "Login with Twitter" or "Login with Facebook" you should read the page/popup that appears when you click the button. It explains which information will be shared with the site.

Clicking a "Login with Steam" button is like asking: "Steam is this user authenticated? If so, what is his SteamID?", that's it, nothing else is shared. This is good for sites that store extra information associated with the user, like some sort of Steam Item Market, it ensures that really is that user using the site. For such a simple application Login is not necessary.

Some food for thought:
When you click on those "Login with ..." buttons keep in mind that you should be redirected to the original site (page/popup), always check the address bar (look for encryption, green padlock and original url). Never insert your information on a non secure page or outside of the domain of the original company. The credentials are never shared with the site and the site will not have more permissions than those that you accepted on the page/popup. You can at anytime revoke the permissions of an application/site on the settings page of the original company.

Yeah ofcourse never fill in third party forms with your data! However google, facebook or in this case steam authentication is perfectly fine most of the time. I was just surprised that even with steam authentications you wouldn't be able to get private data that otherwise would be only publicly available. Since basically all SSO systems support those kind of features.

Well since no one did it, I did.

mediafire dl: joinlastlobby.cmd
or pastebin: http://pastebin.com/8LrjWwAR
If using pastebin you need to copy the raw code, the other one has tabs replaces with spaces which breaks the file parsing.

Instructions:
- Download file
- If awesomenauts is not in the default directory edit the third line that says set gamedir=blah blah and change it to where you have awesomenauts installed.
- Run file

Does not work if you restart awesomenauts (after crashes and whatnot).

I however don't see the point of something like this if you're forced to rejoin the same match....

You're only forced to rejoin the same match if you manually quit.

If you get disconnected (network errors), it actually won't allow you to rejoin the same match at all.

IMO the system should be like this:
- Quit = You don't join the match again. You pressed quit for a reason!
- Disconnect = You get a choice: rejoin or join other match.
Laggy matches aren't fun, so if you disconnect from those you don't want to rejoin it.
If you just have an internet hiccup, however, you can't rejoin it atm.
