Let me explain!
There is a good chance, that Ronimo will overhaul or create a new Engine for 'nauts 2.
This would be done to make the new game run better and support whatever new/old features the game will come with. Since it took Ronimo tools almost 5 years after launch to give us modding tools, I'd be very surprised that 'nauts 2 would launch with modding tools.

Edit: Making modding tools available to users and making them more mod friendly is a lot of work as well. Ronimo with limited resources, might just not bother with a more niche feature like this.

did ronimo tell you specifically why we didn't get modding tools for so long? it could be as simple as them just not making the game with mods in mind at the start, which can be changed for sure in a sequel

No I do not know their intentions.
Neither did I ever claim that this will happen.
All I was doing was speculating.

To finish this off:
I am very certain this won't happen for reasons above.
You are sure it will.
Different opinions and that's okay, have a nice day

The engine is already rather packed with softcoded elements to make modded elements a lot easier, the main concern with the modding tools is making sure they're not a gateway for cheating like just dumping the dev tools online would enable. Though I do agree that a rerun with a Nauts 2 might open venues to add some 'hooks' in for later mod support.
