If I start a round it says Loading 2/3 and then goes black screen. And this error pops up: http://i56.tinypic.com/140yiqc.jpg

This topic seems to be about the same error as well:

Had the some problem, original I changed where I wanted to install the game on my comp, after uninstalling and reinstalling in the default location it worked fine. Worth a try if you changed your install location originally.

I have seen a couple of errors like this one now, but I haven't gotten to the bottom of it yet.

Have you tried running in windowed mode? That strangely seems to solve this for some people.

Also, what videocards do you folks have?

I'm having exactly the same problem as the first two posters. I thought I'd reply in here rather than start another thread.

I start Proun and all I get is the lovely black screen and Windows error noise, then that pop up box saying something about an OGRE. My computer is 5 yrs. old, so it's not exactly a fantastic system :lol: I'm running Windows XP, Service Pack 3 and my graphics card is a Radeon X1800. I've tried turning the graphics on Proun right down, turning off VSync and AA, running it in windowed mode, but still I get the same error.

As a side note I also had some trouble installing it, and I was wondering if that might have affected things. It installed fine up until the bit where a second window popped up to install something Windows related. I can't remember what it was called, but I seem to remember there was something to do with C+++ and 2005... I'm sure you'll know what I mean. (I am a scatterbrain btw :oops: ) The little green bar almost filled up, then it went blank, and another installation window popped up (the same as when you run the exe) It eventually managed to finish installing when I clicked Cancel on the second installation window.

I would love for this to get fixed as Proun looks like a great game :D Thank you in advance!

Similar problem:
http://img848.imageshack.us/img848/1802/prounerror.jpg

I'm using Windows XP. I have an ATI Radeon X1950 Pro, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the problem. Just guessing! (I also tried it on my computer with a Radeon X850, similar error.) Tried windowed mode, and VSync off. Also tried lowering the graphics in the .dat file, but I'm not 100% sure what I'm supposed to set it to. ("Very Low"? "VeryLow"? "Very low"?)

I actually should be getting a new video card soon, so if it's the problem I'll still get to play, but Proun would be a great way to wait. :lol: Good luck tracking down and squashing that bug!

Hi,
I was very excited to see the Full Release of Proun...intriguing payment method but very useful because I cannot make it work.

On installation I got a Firewall error followed by a crash...forgivable.
The next run gave me an Ogre error box complaing that DirectX did not understand the term anti-aliasing! I'm afraid I cannot reproduce that problem any more so cannot post the exact message right now.

I looked at the ogre.cfg and tweaked it to remove 'Full Screen'. Now I get the 'Proun Graphics Settings' dialog but it crashes when I press OK. I suspect it's graphics related so I checked my DX installation and it's up to date. I'll update my driver next. I notice there is a DX dll in the Proun folder...I removed it but that didn't alter anything. I also tried your alternate vcredist but that made no difference.

My machine should be capable of most DX stuff: the Ogre 1.7.0 demos run without problem. Here's my ogre.cfg as it is now:
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]
Allow NVPerfHUD=No
FSAA=0
Floating-point mode=Fastest
Full Screen=No
Rendering Device=Monitor-1-NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX
Resource Creation Policy=Create on active device
VSync=No
VSync Interval=1
Video Mode=800 x 600 @ 32-bit colour
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No

If there's anyhting I can do to help, please get back to me.

I have the same error message as DsurioN. According to the device manager, I have an ATI Radeon X1270 video card. And also I'm running Vista Home Premium, if that's important.

I've been digging a bit...I replaced OIS with the debug version and got the following ASSERTs
http://screencast.com/t/zlNePZjkX1E
http://screencast.com/t/U35FeA246e
http://screencast.com/t/qjj6lrIvetD

I disabled my joystick driver and the game started!
Now I get a new OGRE error about hdriModuleMultiplierA:

I'll do some more tomorrow.
