Good suggestions! Quite a few of these were already my list to do and I've added a bunch more based on your post.

However, I don't know how far I'll get before 3.5 launches so I'm not going to make any promises. In any case I think you'll like beta 2 and beta 3 since there will be lots of improvements.

This you can already do this with the "animationDuration" setting on Obstacles.

I've heard quite a bit of confusion about the killzones so we'll have to revise those I think. The rule right now is that if you draw a square around all the Obstacles in your level, that's the area you can be in. Go outside that area and you die. That's why the TemplateBox map has those high walls on the sides: that extends the area. So if you want players to go a lot further, just place an Obstacle really far away and that's it.
